Education
Focusing on the individual goals of students, we educate them in theories and practice. More than just teaching specific skills to be accepted into schools, we help them gain a basic, but the crucial understanding of what design entails and develop into gifted designers. Our comprehensive curriculum prepares students to gain admission to schools in Korea and overseas and enables them to build their resumes through professional experiences, social designs, and exhibitions. Through our innovative approach, students also participate in discussions, critiques, presentations, and independent research to logically understand how the field of art and design is evolving.
Design
1-5 Design Lab donates our time and talents to human services and non-profit organizations to help them develop design strategies. We thus fulfill social functions of designers to value the importance of public contributions. We are experts in our respective fields and aim to produce designs that merge and maximize social and market values. We acknowledge that depending on the focus and belief of a value, a good design may vary in its appearances. Although we feel greater gratification in creating social value, we never underestimate the gravity of market value of design. 1-5 Design Lab selects and performs 1 pro bono projects annually. We offer pro bono design in yearly bases with MOU contract or conduct a single project with specified research range to chosen organizations.
